Alexandra “Alex” McNicholas Bernier graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center.She has over twenty years of legal experience, primarily in federal court practice.After graduating from law school, Mrs. Bernier worked as a law clerk for United States Magistrate Judge Wendell C. Radford for two years until his retirement.United States Magistrate Judge Keith F. Giblin then asked Mrs. Bernier to serve as his career law clerk/briefing attorney during his entire seventeen-year tenure on the bench.During her time with the federal judiciary, Mrs. Bernier handled a wide breadth of cases, including employment, criminal, insurance, commercial, personal injury, regulatory and intellectual property matters.She also has private practice experience in personal injury litigation, property claim disputes and complex insurance coverage issues, advocating for clients in state and federal courts throughout Texas.

Mrs. Bernier joined Henneman Rau Kirklin & Smith in 2023, where her litigation and arbitration practice focuses on complex commercial matters and business disputes.

Outside of her law practice, Mrs. Bernier enjoys spending time with her husband and three teenage children, being a soccer mom, running, cooking, all things Aggie football, school volunteering, watching professional golf and the Astros.
